Post three: High School. Immediately after I found out what school I would be attending, I searched it on google and I was in for quite a surprise-it was beautiful! Lycée Pierre de Fermat is apparantly one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in Toulouse, the 4th largest city in France, and it’s located right in the center of the town. My host father informed me that I would be in Première litteraire (which is equivalent to our 11th grade). However, the litteraire track means that my classes will be focused more on languages, literature, and history more than on math and science. I’m actually quite happy about this, because math and science are not my two most favorite subjects and this way I will get to learn more about French culture. I was also informed, though, that my school day is rather long. It starts at about 8 in the morning and doesn’t end until 5 in the evening. I sometimes also have school on Saturday! AHH! The one good thing is that every Wednesday is a half day and my lunch breaks are about an hour or two long. Apparently there is also quite a few exchange students who attend my school and I already know that I will have a girl from Germany and one from Poland in my class! I have talked to past exchange students who have attended my school and they said it’s pretty hard because it is such a well known school. I’m hoping that they will grade me on a pass/fail basis because my grades have to transfer over! Ok, enough of school! I’d rather not be thinking about that right now and enjoy the rest of my summer!

Bon Nuit!
