Sooo school. Thursday was my first day of highscool in my new “lycee”!! It was only for about an hour and a half where they went over rules and regulations that I didn’t understand at all because it was all in french. Hopefully I didn’t miss anything important! =] hahah. However, overall, the day wasn’t too bad and I met alot of nice people so far. School here is soo different from back home. It’s a lot like college in which your classes are not all back to back and range from all differerent times. For example, sometimes my first class starts at 8 in the morning while other times it starts at 10 and sometimes my last class finishes at 3 or it could finish at 6… it just depends on the day. The good thing is every Wed. is a half day and because of my schedule, I am out of school by 11. I also don’t have school on Saturday which was a big possibility but luckily my scheduled turned out to be fine, thank god! The other good thing is that I have ALOT of breaks throught the day, however sometimes I think it might be too much. Like on Friday, my first class is from 8-10 in the morning and my second and last class of the day is from 4-6 in the afternoon. That means I have six hours to do anything I want before I’m finished with school for the day. As of right now, because I don’t really know my way around the city yet and I don’t have friends to hang out with, six hours is too much time to sit around and do nothing. Atleast my house is only a 10 min bus ride from the school so I can go home and relax whenever I want to. Oh and my school, well what I’ve seen of it so far, is soo cool! It looks nothing like the schools back home, and well it is so French! =] haha. Because it’s one of the top schools in the area and in France, the people at my school all seeem to be very very rich. They all dress amazingly well, wearing skirts and dresses and even sometimes heels to school. Even the boys have good fashion! I love it. Hopefully I’ll get in some good shopping while I’m here =]. In my class for the core subjects such as French and History and etc., there are about 20-30 students. Most of them are girls because the track I’m in focuses more on literature than math and science, however there are a handful of boys, probably around 8 or so. The people that I’ve met so far seem very nice and most of them know english which is good because my french level is still not very good yet (it is getting somewhat easier though). There is even an exchange student from Germany in my class who seems nice but she will be going back home in two months. There was supposed to be a girl from Poland too but I guess she never showed up? Atleast I’m not the only one who doesn’t fully understand what’s going on in class. As of right now, I can pick up on a few sentences the teachers say here and there but otherwise I have no clue what’s going on. They speak waaay to fast for me!! Atleast they know I’m an exchange student so hopefully they won’t expect too much out of me yet. Another interesting note is that on Friday, when we all walked in to our chem/physics class, the teacher asked who the exchange students were and when me and the german girl raised our hands, she told us that because there were too many students in that class we were not allowed to be there and we had to leave. The good thing is that means it’s less work for me and I’ll have even more free time, however, although my school back in the US doesn’t require me to take a science class this year to get credit, it still might be helpful in the long run and for applying for colleges and stuff so we shall see. Maybe I will take some kind of art class or use that extra time to do homework.. I don’t know, I havn’t figured it out yet. Ok I’m off to bed as my first class tomorrow is an early one! Wish me good luck!

Bon Nuit!
